Success!

Some of you may remember this post from Eastern Market: http://eschmidtphotography.blogspot.com/2012/06/buying-local.html

These are tomatoes from our patio plant that I assumed we would kill!  It was a great surprise when we returned from our trip to find that our wonderful house/dog sitter picked them for us while we were gone.

Buying local

Going to Eastern Market is one of my favorite summer activities.  Not only are the fruits & veggies yummy and inexpensive, but it's also a great atmosphere.  Tons of street performers, great cafe's and families fill the street making it the perfect summer retreat.
This pizza was amazing!  I am not a big pizza eater and I had to wait an hour in the sun for it, but it was totally worth it!  I had the Smokey which was prosciutto, roasted garlic, chopped parsley, mozzarella, smoked Gouda & ricotta.
Our new "patio plant".  It's easy to maintain and grows smaller tomatoes.  We'll see how long it lives...
