Buying local

Going to Eastern Market is one of my favorite summer activities.  Not only are the fruits & veggies yummy and inexpensive, but it's also a great atmosphere.  Tons of street performers, great cafe's and families fill the street making it the perfect summer retreat.
This pizza was amazing!  I am not a big pizza eater and I had to wait an hour in the sun for it, but it was totally worth it!  I had the Smokey which was prosciutto, roasted garlic, chopped parsley, mozzarella, smoked Gouda & ricotta.
Our new "patio plant".  It's easy to maintain and grows smaller tomatoes.  We'll see how long it lives...

Getting ready

I spent last night preparing for my newborn shoot on Sunday.  You know you're old when you're dyeing cheesecloth on a Friday night.

I'll eat you up; I love you so

This book is one of the first purchases we made for the baby.  It was one of my favorites growing up and as I reread it last night, it reminded me just exactly why it was the perfect choice for our baby.  When I was young, I loved it because of the Wild Rumpus & fun that was depicted.  Now as I reread it as an adult, I see that the real lesson is that if you use your imagination & creativity, you can go anywhere.  It's amazing how beyond it's time this book was.

Coming along

Yesterday, Brandon put the crib together.  The rest of the nursery furniture should be coming this week, so soon it will be all together and ready for Baby S's arrival.

Security

Since becoming pregnant, Barkley rarely leaves my side while I'm home.  I think he's already practicing his job as baby security guard.

Note: I can no longer see my toes.

Happy Father's Day!

Now, I know I posted this pic before but now it may have new meaning.  This was taken the morning that I told Brandon he was (for sure, we took a few tests to be sure) going to be a father.
His father's day gift.  Clearly I have food on the brain.

And of course we can't leave out my own Dad.  As he gets closer to retirement, it seems to be more and more difficult to keep the eye on the prize.  Below is the countdown calendar I made him to help get through the next few months.  He's not yet received it (luckily he doesn't really get on here a lot) so if you see him, don't tell him ;)

Hail to the Thief

Here is the continuation of shots from the Radiohead show Monday night.  If you ever have an opportunity to see them, and you like music, definitely check them out.  Amazing!
Here, Jonny Greenwood is playing a radio as an instrument.  Definitely one of the coolest things I've seen at a show.

Sneak Peek: Hail to the Thief

Here's a quick peek at the Radiohead show at the Palace.  We were lucky enough to get really close to the stage again.  This preggie's feet are definitely feeling it today.  Check back later for more!

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Szydlowski

Saturday we got to spend the day with two of the most in love people I know.  Ken & Cyndi are beautiful people inside and out and therefore I couldn't help but take a million photos!
