It's so cold in the D

I finally made it back to Detroit today!  I had a meeting to check out a venue I'm photographing in a few months and thought I would take a minute to get some photos in.

Destination Unknown: The Roof

These are the photos from my urban photography workshop on Sunday.  I actually got quite a few, so I am going to break it up into a few posts so I don't overwhelm you!  Welcome to Detroit!

Sneak Peek: Destination Unknown

A friend of mine & I went to a photography workshop over the very early Sunday morning where we visited an abandoned building.  Check back soon for more from this very secretive and interesting spot!

The Ghost of Michigan Central Station

Built in 1912 and closed in 1988, Michigan Central Station was the tallest rail station in the world when it was built.  Many discussions of renovations have been approved over the last year, however, nothing has been followed through yet.

Shattered!

This past weekend a friend and I took a photography class to further understand the functions on our camera.  The class was fantastic!  Our instructor Asia was extremely knowledgeable, fun and creative.
If you own a DSLR camera and want to know how to use it, check out Asia's class, http://www.nozomilive.com/#!__page-0/digital-photo-classes

Ode to Detroit Part 3

There were surprises all over Belle Isle just as there are all over the city.  From the finish line from when they used to race cars there to the abandoned building... cover your eyes Mom... I went into to get some shots of local artists graffiti, there was something new and different everywhere I looked.
There is only one part left to my Detroit photography project.  I hope that these photos have inspired some of you to head down to the city soon and revisit some of the places you used to go as a child or adult.  I'm quite sure you'll be happy you did!
